Every now and then I visit the website of the Buddhist Society for Compassionate Wisdom, the starting point for my temple's lineage in the West. When I visit, I always find something that inspires me. The home page currently features the following quote which I thought I'd share today.
This is a nice reflection to read before meditation practice. It sets a lovely tone. Enjoy!
Be quiet, look within and enjoy the healing power of silence. Let go of your sorrow and attachments. Your inner core and wisdom heart remain untouched either by insult or by praise. So have faith in your heart and trust yourself. Sit free from fear and worries. Rely on your true and sincere heart for your meditation. Pay attention and concentrate on your breath. Let peace and happiness prevail and spread through you. Remember that your life is intimately connected with all other life. May all beings benefit from your presence as a living embodiment of peace and happiness.
—Ven. Samu Sunim
Lovely. I always read some thing each day before mediating. Thank you for this.

I love this quote as well. I am proud to be in this lineage. Ven. Samu Sunim is the founder of my temple organization, and is my teacher's teacher. I often think of him as my dharma grandfather.
As beautiful and sincere as that quote sounds, he can be a mischievous imp at times, too, I tell you! :)

You're welcome Marlene...
And Sudo, I believe you... But most Zen teachers are at least a little mischievous.
